This page sets out how to think about gambling before following any link on this site, and what this site can and cannot do to help someone manage that decision. It is written to be read before you claim anything from an operator listing, not after.
Decide the amount before you click anything
Set a figure in your head before you start, and treat it as gone the moment you spend it. Deciding in advance removes the pressure of deciding in the moment, when a run of results makes almost any number feel justified.
Once that amount is spent, stop. Chasing a loss by increasing the next stake is a way of trying to undo a decision that has already been made, and it rarely works because the outcome of the next bet has nothing to do with the last one.
Keep the money separate from the rest of your life
Only gamble with money you can afford to not have back. Money that is earmarked for rent, bills or borrowed from someone else carries a cost that outlasts the session, so it changes what a loss actually means.
Take breaks between sessions rather than playing in one continuous stretch. A pause gives you a chance to notice whether you are still doing this for entertainment or for some other reason.
Involve someone else before it becomes a problem
Tell someone early if gambling stops feeling like entertainment, rather than waiting until it becomes difficult to talk about. A second person can see patterns that are hard to notice from inside a session, and raising it early keeps the conversation simple.

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion all belong to an account held with an operator. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application behind it, so nothing published here can turn one of those controls on, check whether it is active, or enforce it.
If you want any of those controls, they exist only at the destination you reach after following an operator link, and they have to be set up in the account you hold there.
Know that age is checked elsewhere, not here

Recognise the limits of a page with no advertising behind it
